Full Twilight Quilt - for Rob by setralynn Full Twilight Quilt - for Rob by setralynn
My most ambitious machine quilting project so far. This is a full size quilt and is quilted all over not more than 2-3 inches apart. It took /forever/ but came out really well. A lot of the fabrics have little bits of sparkle or metallic in them and the applique is done with a translucent iridescent thread which looks really cool in person.

This is amazing! I've had some quilting experience myself, but I've never done anything on this scale. I can't even imagine how long that took you. Beautiful work!

Aw, thank you!  It was a labor of love in this case, since my brother introduced me to ponies and his love for Twilight knows no bounds. ^_^

Sorry I only just saw your comments.  I'm not totally sure how much I'd need to charge for one to cover my costs (and hours), but I can do some math on fabric costs if you're still interested.

Wow. Just... wow!

The colors are fantastic, the arrangement of the blocks are great! I didn't even realize it was the log cabin patch at first (which is a patch I'm not particularly fond of) and you have done it perfectly!

The star in the middle is a nice touch.

I swear this quilt has such movement to it. I can almost see the colors pulsing out from the center. Amazing work!

Thank you so much!  There are two styles of log cabin in it, which lets the pattern be a little more complex than with a basic light/dark block.  (I'm not the biggest log cabin fan either, but it keeps you from sewing triangles or bias pieces like flying geese. ^_~ )  I'm glad the colors work for you too!

To think that quilt was made from Twilight hide is rather disturbing.

This is lovely! I love that it is clearly a Twilight Sparkle quilt but for anyone unfamiliar with My Little Pony it would just be a nice log cabin quilt with a pretty design in the center. Nice and subtle for those adult fans who don't want things too over the top!

Are you going to do any of the other characters?

I'm considering other characters actually, possibly a Cadence or Celestia themed one for my cosplay partner Calhale.  Possibly smaller ones to try to sell in an Artists Alley, but I'm not sure anyone would pay for them. :P

I'd love to see others in the future!

As for selling them, yeah it depends what you charge for them.  People can be pretty strange with what they are and aren't willing to pay money for.  I know that something like this would definitely take a long time to make though so it would probably be really difficult to get enough to make it worth your time.
